The Dangers of Using iPhone Spy Apps

Now that iPhone spy apps have become a norm, a large number of people are using them without taking into consideration the consequences. More often than not, apps like these are installed on someone else’s device without their consensus, and then the user continuously see each and every activity being performed on that phone. This can work as long as the owner of the device doesn’t know that he or she is being watched, but sooner or later, the person being spied on is going to figure out that something’s going on and when that happens, it’s not going to end well. Using spy apps like can only lead to problems, some of which have been outlined below.

Relationship Suffers

It is okay to monitor people activities if the person being on has been informed and their consent has been taken. However, in most situations, that is not the case as people continue to spy on others’ activities without their consent. If they are able to take someone else’s device and install the spy app on it, then there certainly is some sort of relationship between them. It could be parents and children, employers and employees, husband and wife, boyfriend and girlfriend, or just friends. If the other party finds out, which they usually do, then whatever relationship they shared would suffer in a big way. In no possible scenario, things would end well for either party. Relationships are pretty important and are built on trust, and just because of a spy app, people can lose it all. This is the biggest pitfall of using spy apps, and if you are amongst the people who is thinking about trying them out, then be sure to let the other person know that you’ll keeping an eye on their activities. Otherwise, be prepared for the consequences.

Another huge problem people can face from spying on others is lawsuit. If someone is caught spying on someone else’s mobile phone, then they must provide a pretty good explanation for it because if they don’t, they are looking at a serious lawsuit and can end up in jail for a long time. It doesn’t matter what relationship they had with a person they were spying on. If they file a case against the individual who was spying on them, then the latter is going down for a long time. This of course is a major blow and can ruin anyone’s life in an instant. So save yourself all the trouble and stick to not spying on people because as we have been saying from the start, it’s not going to end well for anyone involved.

Jailbreak and Consequent Risks

Most of the spy apps fail to meet Apple’s terms and condition, which is why they are not allowed on the App Store. To download such apps from an unofficial store, users have to jailbreak their iPhones, hence voiding the warranty and opening their device to myriad third-party malware.

Downloading anything from any place does seem like a convenience, but it’s not. Hackers sneak in spyware and trojans into the users’ device through third-party apps, and then get their hands on all the personal information. More often than not, this information is used to get some sort of ransom. Instead of risking your device, and even your life in some cases, for the sake of a spy app, it is better to avoid it altogether.
